What we do

Patios, paving, fencing. That is the short version of what we do out of Thaxted, Essex, and we have been doing it long enough to know what lasts and what does not.

Groundworks and laying

Every patio we lay starts with the sub-base. A compacted MOT Type 1 sub-base with adequate falls to a drainage outlet is what separates a patio that lasts from one that sinks and shifts within two winters.

We do not rush that part. Customers in and around the CM6 postcode area will tell you the same.

Fencing and walling

We install timber fencing and garden walling to go with the patio work, it makes sense to have one crew handle the full plot rather than manage three separate contractors.

Close-board panels, post and rail, brick garden walling. We size and set posts properly, which is where most fencing failures begin.

Lawns and artificial grass

Once the hard landscaping is done, we can finish the job with a turfed lawn or artificial grass installation. Roll-on turf beds down well when the ground is prepared right. Artificial grass has come a long way and suits plenty of gardens in this part of Essex.
