Great Wakering Patios

Great Wakering Patios

A bit about how we work

First job I ever laid was a wonky little path in a back garden.

Nobody warned me about Essex clay. That early lesson shaped everything about how I approach groundwork now, because proper preparation under the surface is what separates a patio that lasts from one that shifts after the first frost.

What we do

We cover the full range of outdoor surface work across Great Wakering and the surrounding SS3 postcodes.

  • Porcelain tiled patios and garden paving
  • Indian sandstone and concrete flagstone installations
  • Block paving and natural stone paths
  • Timber fencing and garden walling
  • Roll-on turf and artificial grass lawns

One thing customers often mention afterwards is the low-voltage lighting we integrate into steps, subtle strips tucked beneath the tread nosing that make an evening garden genuinely usable and safe underfoot.

Materials and the local conditions

We work with porcelain, Indian sandstone, concrete flags, and block paving, choosing the right base depth for each material because the ground around here near the St Nicholas Church end of the village behaves differently depending on how close you are to the marsh edge.

Drainage is never an afterthought with us. It gets designed in from the start, not fixed afterwards (and I’ll be honest, fixing it afterwards costs everyone more time and money than I’d like to admit).

Come and have a chat

We keep things straightforward. You tell me what your garden needs, I come out, look at the ground properly, and give you a clear price with no vague estimates that balloon later. However the project shapes up, whether it is a compact courtyard or a full rear garden overhaul, we give it the same care and attention throughout.
