Great Wakering Patios
Great Wakering Patios
A bit about how we work
A customer once showed me a patio that had sunk on one side. It had been laid straight onto soft Essex clay, no proper sub-base, no thought given to drainage at all.
That kind of thing is what we set out to fix, and to prevent. We’ve been laying patios across the SS3 postcode and surrounding villages long enough to know that the ground here can catch you out if you’re not paying attention (the clay beneath Great Wakering shifts more than people expect, especially after a dry summer).
What we install
- Porcelain tiled patios
- Indian sandstone and natural stone paving
- Concrete flagstone installations
- Garden paths and patio areas
- Artificial grass and roll-on turf lawns
- Timber fencing and garden walling
I’ve always had a soft spot for a well-laid sandstone, the way the colour settles in after a bit of weather. Porcelain is brilliant for low maintenance, though I’ll always say it needs the right adhesive bed to sit properly on our kind of soil.
The finer details we don’t skip
One thing I genuinely enjoy speccing out is low-voltage lighting integrated into steps, it lifts an evening garden completely and it’s more straightforward to install during the build than people think.
We cover edging, falls for drainage, pointing that won’t blow out after one frost. I’m not going to pretend every job is glamorous, some of them are a wet Monday in February, however the finish is always what matters.
