Ballyfermot Guttering

Dublin rain doesn’t forgive a blocked gutter.

It comes sideways off the Liffey valley and straight into your fascia board before you’ve noticed anything’s wrong. I’ve been working on rooflines across Dublin for years, and the damage a neglected gutter causes is nearly always worse than people expect. By the time there’s a damp patch on a wall, the water’s been sitting somewhere it shouldn’t for months.

We cover D10 and the surrounding areas, working on all kinds of housing stock. The red brick terraces off Decies Road and the pebble-dash semi-detached houses out towards Clondalkin are where we spend most of our time. Different materials, different problems. Same wet Irish sky above all of them.

What we do

  • Full gutter replacement and new installations in uPVC, aluminium seamless, and cast iron
  • Half-round, ogee, and square-line profiles fitted and aligned properly
  • Downpipe repair and replacement, hopper heads, and rainwater outlets
  • Soffit and fascia replacement in uPVC
  • Leaf guards and gutter mesh fitted to problem runs
  • Connection to existing soakaways and gullies
  • Rainwater diverters and water butt installation

One thing that catches people out is the parapet wall lead flashing junction where a rear return meets the main back wall. If that’s lifting or cracked, no amount of new guttering fixes the water ingress underneath it. We check it while we’re up there. It’s a small thing. It matters.

A typical installation day

1. Survey the full roofline and check fall angles before anything comes down
2. Strip out old brackets and failed sections, inspect fascia boards underneath
3. Cut and fit new runs, set correct fall towards downpipe outlet
4. Fix brackets at correct spacing (closer than most people bother with on older houses)
5. Connect downpipes to existing drainage, test the full run with water
6. Clear up and walk the customer around what was done

However hard the job looks from the ground, it usually comes down to the same basics done right. Every time.
