What we do

From the ground up, we lay patios, paths, lawns and fencing across Halstead, Essex and the surrounding area. That is the whole of it. We do not take on everything under the sun. We know this trade well and we stick to what we are good at.

The materials we work with

Over the years we have worked with most of what is out there for outdoor paving. Here is what we install regularly:

• Porcelain tiles, calibrated and large-format
• Indian sandstone, riven and sawn finish
• Concrete flagstones
• Block paving
• Garden walling in brick and block
• Timber fencing panels and posts
• Roll-on turf and artificial grass

How we build

Base preparation is where most patios go wrong. We compact in layers. Sub-base first, then a blinded surface, then the bedding course. Every stage gets compacted properly before we move on. That is not glamorous work but it is why our patios do not sink or shift after the first winter.

We collect most of our aggregates and sharp sand from Braintree Council’s local yard depot, which keeps our supply chain short and our material quality consistent.

Where we work

We cover Halstead and out across CO9, CO10 and into the surrounding villages. Most of our work comes through word of mouth from one street to the next (which tells you something about repeat satisfaction). We do not chase volume. We plan each job carefully before a single slab gets laid.
