Babylon Paving
Babylon Paving
Cold ground tells you everything.
Frost heave, water sitting where it shouldn’t, a driveway that’s cracked along the same line two winters running. I’ve seen it enough times out here on Long Island to know the ground doesn’t lie. We’re based in Babylon, and we’ve been reading surfaces like that for years.
What we work with
We cover the full range of surfacing options, so whatever the job calls for, we’ve got the material knowledge to back it up.
- Hot mix asphalt paving
- Blacktop driveways, new and resurfaced
- Asphalt overlays over existing base
- Interlock concrete pavers
- Poured concrete paving
- Patio and terrace surfacing
- Walkway paving
Each one has its place. Interlocks suit a patio where you want movement between joints. Asphalt is tough, cost-effective, and handles freeze-thaw well. Concrete sits in between. We’ll tell you straight which one fits your site.
How we actually work
Before any surface goes down, we look at what’s underneath. Drainage was the thing on a job we did over near the Wyandanch area. The homeowner wanted new blacktop. We found the sub-base was holding water after every rain. You fix that first or you’re back in two years. Simple.
We prep properly. No shortcuts on the base layer. (A lot of complaints about paving come down to whoever skipped that step.) The crews we run are experienced, and the work gets checked before we leave the site.
Where we work
We cover Babylon and the surrounding Suffolk County area. We’ve done driveways around the block from the North Amityville Fire Company and we know this part of Long Island well. Residential, commercial, it doesn’t matter much to us once the scope is clear.
The work isn’t glamorous. However, it holds up, and that’s what matters when the next winter comes around.
