Materials and how we work

We use Wicklow granite regularly. It takes the freeze-thaw cycle well. Good drainage underneath matters just as much as the stone on top. We’ve seen plenty of patios fail because the groundwork was rushed (and believe me, fixing someone else’s sunken flags is not how we like spending a Tuesday).

Donegal quartzite is a material we rate highly for hard wear. It handles foot traffic, furniture, all of it, without fading out after a few seasons. We work with Indian sandstone too, which gives a warmer look if that suits the garden better.

Renovations as well as new builds

Not every job is a blank canvas. A lot of what we do is ripping out old, cracked paving and starting the base properly. We level, we compact, we get the fall right. The finished surface is only as good as what’s underneath it.

However, if you already have a solid base that just needs lifting and relaying, we can work with that too. No point in unnecessary digging.
